How to increase speed of my system on Windows
8:04 AM
It becomes a common problem for most windows operating system users. I have also felt the same for my System. Slowing of computer irritates me at different situations. We might have search the solution to make the computer back to speed. I have seen a newspaper report on this. I solved that problem with the instructions given by the Microsoft.
Here are some suggestions from Microsoft to make the windows back to speed.
- CHECK FOR VIRUSES: This usually isn't the problem, but it's worth a look. If you haven't got antivirus software running, download the Microsoft Security Essential.
- RUN WINDOWS UPDATE: If you haven't updated your Windows in a while, there may be speed fixes that Microsoft has published since you brought it. Microsoft recommends that you turn on automatic updating, but plenty of readers hate the automatic updates.
- REDUCE WEB HISTORY: This one works for sure. Internet Explorer stores a history of websites you have visited. MS suggests keeping no more than a week's worth of Web history.
- DISABLE ADD-ONS: Browser add-ons can slow down browsing, especially if you install several of them on your system. To disable, go to the IE option Tools -> Manage Add-ons. Other browsers have similar configuration controls.
- FREE SOME DISK SPACE: A disk that's running out of space can slow Windows, as it juggles data that it would just spit out to the disk. To reclaim space, run the Disk Cleanup tool (Bring up the start menu and type "disk cleanup tool" into the search box) to remove cache files.
- STILL SLOW? Here's a fast and easy way to get help from the people who make Windows: Log in to Twitter and post a tweet with @MicrosoftHelps in it to get attention from the Microsoft customers support team weekdays from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm US Pacific time (9 pm to 7 am Indian time).
